The BOTOX Injections

Posted by: Saiful  :  Category: Meditation

Not everyone is willing to undergo surgery, whether it be a life-saving procedure or a cosmetic surgical one. More often than not, these people who are deathly afraid of any form of surgery are composed of individuals who swoon every time they see an injection needle, a scalpel, or anything sharp slowly coming into contact with their skin. Luckily for those who want to improve their looks through cosmetic surgery procedures, but are scared senseless of the idea of an actual operation, a wide array of non-surgical options are now open to them. One of the most popular, if not the most popular, non-surgical cosmetic procedures these days are BOTOX injections. BOTOX cosmetic is the trade name for botulinum toxin A. Simply put, BOTOX  is a toxin. Not just any toxin , but a toxin that is a by-product of botulism, a form of food poisoning. Not too many people realize that the wildly popular cosmetic treatment is in reality a poisonous substance.

How did it come to this? A lot of people may be wondering why anyone would want something as poisonous as botulinum toxin type A injected into their bodies.  Here's a bit of a history about how BOTOX came about. In the 1950s, researchers stumbled upon the fact that minute injections of botulinum toxin type A can help decrease the activity of muscles deemed to be overactive.  Eventually, botulinum toxin type A was packaged as BOTOX   Initially, however, BOTOX was intended to treat eye muscle disorders such as misaligned eyes and blepharospasm or  uncontrollable blinking. But it was only a matter of time before its cosmetic benefits were discovered. Doctors realized this when they reported that the frown lines between the eyebrows of patients appeared to soften after treatments. This is primarily because botulinum toxin type A is a neurotoxin which basically blocks the signals that would normally tell your muscles to contract.

Deep Penetrating Light Therapy ? A Closer Look at This Up-And-Coming Therapy and Industry?

Posted by: Saiful  :  Category: Meditation

I recently began investigating a new (to me) tool for both pain relief and beauty. This is not in my realm of expertise, but I am learning more about it.

I first heard about this therapy via a customer of mine who asked if I carried a particular device. In the process of my research I learned a lot of interesting things.

One is that the FDA apparently has no problems whatsoever with this type of therapy. In fact, I know of one device that is actually FDA cleared for pain relief. This was a bit shocking and surprising. It must be a very good sign if it could make it made it beyond the watchful scrutiny of the FDA!

When I talked to the manufacturer’s representative for this device, she told me that they are expecting to be cleared for beauty purposes as well. One of the health benefits to deep penetrating light therapy is that it may boost collagen and elastin production. If true, it is plausible to think that such therapy could be capable of making skin look younger and more beautiful.

This could be very good news for women everywhere. In the case of pain relief, it could be good news for both men and women!

Here are some of the other alleged benefits from deep penetrating light therapy:

Stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is the most common protein found in the body. Collagen is the essential protein used to repair damaged tissue and to replace old tissue. It is the substance that holds cells together and has a high degree of elasticity.

Stimulate fibroblastic activity – Which aids in the repair process. Fibroblasts are present in connective tissue and are capable of forming collagen fibers.

Increase vascularity (circulation). Circulation is increased by increasing the formation of new capillaries, which are additional blood vessels that replace damaged ones. New capillaries speed up the healing process by carrying more oxygen as well as more nutrients needed for and they can also carry more waste products away.

Stimulate the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the major carrier of energy to all cells. A T P provides the chemical energy that drives the chemical reaction of the cell. It is the body’s fuel!

Increase lymphatic system activity. Edema, which is the swelling or natural splinting process of the body, has two basic components. The first is a liquid part, which can be evacuated by the blood system, and the second is comprised of the proteins, which have to be evacuated by the lymphatic system. Research has shown that the lymph vessel diameter and the flow of the lymph system can be doubled with the use of light therapy.

Increase RNA and DNA synthesis. This helps damaged cells to be replaced more promptly. Reduce the excitability of nervous tissue.
